Initially established as a means to diversify the offering of James Cropper PLC, at that time solely a speciality papermaker, TFP builds on over 170 years of papermaking expertise to manufacture the world’s broadest range of wet-laid nonwovens. TFP combines a unique manufacturing process and capability with the group's long-established tradition of delivering high quality, bespoke products through effective partnerships with customers. Our parent company James Cropper PLC is globally renowned for luxury packaging papers as well as its latest sustainable initiatives, these include Cup Cycling™ - the upcycling of take-away paper coffee cups into luxury papers & packaging, and Colourform™ - an innovative new range of renewable and recyclable moulded fibre packaging.

TFP is an internationally recognised company, exporting over 85% of our nonwovens worldwide. Head-quartered in Burneside, UK, we operate 3 manufacturing sites internationally and have an extensive sales support network to provide the high levels of service our customers have come to expect.

TFP first expanded outside of the UK in 1991 with the opening of a US sales office – Technical Fibre Products Inc. Since then we have also added Electro Fiber Technologies LLC (EFT), a manufacturing company based on the same site in Schenectady, New York. EFT encompasses technologies complementary to nonwoven manufacturing, including in-house metal-coated fibre production, as well as a commercial nanocoating line and particle plating facility.

Our operations in the UK have also been recently extended to support significant sales growth. A new production line was installed in 2016 to double capacity and this will be followed by further expansion in 2020 to increase capacity by a further 50%. Other significant investments at our Burneside site include a state of the art pilot line to support product development, as well as extensive converting capability including lamination.
